Sailing into the sunset - Scows on Lake Winnebago

E-scow action -7991 - 2009 E Scow Nationals hosted by the Oshkosh Yacht Club Tammy L Sawyer http://www.tammysawyer.com

We all get wrapped up in our own sailing, not realising there is another world out there. Take a few minutes to look at these E Scow images from the 2009 Nationals Oshkosh, Lake Winnebago Wisconsin, USA.

We are pleased to publish these images taken by Wisconsin photographer Tammy Sawyer.

Tammy comes from a scow sailing family, her father Tom was one of the founders of the E Blue Chip regatta and she’s been sailing scows on Pewaukee Lake since she was seven years old.

Tammy tells the story ‘My dad (who passed away when I was young) introduced all of his daughters (five of us) to the sport...my brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews...all sail as well!! Sailing is a major part of our lives...there's nothing like the wind and water!

‘About 12 years ago...I picked up the camera and have been shooting ever since.

‘I take the photos because I LOVE sailing! I have to admit there are days when I'm shooting and think to myself...damn I wish I was pulling jib on that E Scow...but then I also love taking the shots!!! So, I'm torn some days.‘

This coming weekend Tammy will be back on the water for the 43rd annual E Blue Chip regatta and we look forward to publishing her images from that event.
