Volvo Ocean Race- Amazing high speed and wipe-out videos - Camper

Two high speed wipe-outs from on board Camper in the closing stages of Leg 8 of the Volvo Ocean Race. Plus another on board video of Camper sailing at high speed towards the Low that welcomed the Volvo Ocean race fleet to Lorient.

No one could accuse Camper skipper Chris Nicholson of not leading from the front. Here, the six times world champion, and double Olympian in the Olympic 49er class, is at the helm as Camper gets smacked by a massive amount of water. Over to Nico for an explanation:

'I was driving and got a massive wash off the wheel,' Nicholson said on this video sent from the boat as Camper with Emirates Team New Zealand tussled for a podium place on Leg 8.

'I fell back, hit Nick (Burridge) and Salty (Rob Salthouse) and they both got pretty badly bruised legs.

'There were one or two waves there -- one wave that I managed not to catch, but if we'd caught it there would have been tears at the bottom. And one wave we did catch ... and there was tears at the bottom.'
