Jeppesen Marine has announced this week the release of its all-new high-resolution bathymetric charts for Australian waters, enhancing its global portfolio of speciality C-MAP by Jeppesen charts.

The new bathymetric charts covering Australian coastal waters, provide an unprecedented level of detail realistically depicting the Australian seafloor.

Depth contours provided by these high-definition bathy charts make them an ideal aid for both cruising and fishing; the sailing fraternity will be able to use these charts to predict eddies in currents to improve all-round performance.

Anglers using these charts will be able to find prominent seafloor structure to predict sea floor changes where elusive bait fish hide.

Fishermen, mariners and sailors alike will find Jeppesen bathymetric charts a practical companion to standard navigational charts.

'The addition of Jeppesen high-resolution bathymetric charts for Australian waters continues the company’s innovative spirit as we expand our award-winning portfolio of electronic chart coverage in Australia and around the world,' Wayne Hunter, Jeppesen senior market manager for Australia, explained.

'With Jeppesen’s high-resolution bathy data, commercial fishermen and sport fishing enthusiasts can better locate important deep water fishing areas where fish are likely to congregate and feed.

'This can increase time on the fishing grounds while burning less fuel locating those grounds,' he added.

Available for purchase as a separate cartridge to supplement navigational charts, C-MAP by Jeppesen bathymetric charts are designed for use in conjunction with MAX and NT+ compatible chart plotters and PC-based navigation programs.

Rish high-resolution details, from depths20-metres and below, make these charts ideal for fishermen, divers, mariners and sailors, however they are not intended for navigational use.
