'Rain, rain, go away, come again another day' is the thought running through the minds of the 580 competitors and 180 volunteers on Day 3 of the ISAF World Sailing Cup Melbourne.

The international competitors from 24 countries would probably add a new line: 'Come again another day - when we aren't here!'

After a day of very mixed weather conditions yesterday - almost too many to count, today is more consistent - rain, but with a breeze that will shift from the north to the south and settle in at around 15kts.

The rain is expected to continue until early to mid afternoon, according to the forecasts.

The postponement flag was flown at 11.00am with the racing being delayed more because of poor visibility than wind.

All sailors are currently being held ashore.

When racing does get underway it will be the 470 Men and Women, Finn, 49er, 49erFX, Laser and Laser Radial who will race in the first session of the day, which was scheduled for noon. The other classes being the Paralympic classes, RS:X men and Women and Nacra 17 were scheduled to start racing at 3.00pm.
