Abell Point Marina Airlie Beach Race Week 2013 - Another soft day expected today, with 6-8 knot northeasterlies coming in after midday, according to the latest PredictWind forecasts, as a weak high pressure system lies over the southern Coral Sea, extending a ridge along the north tropical coast.

A surface trough is expected to move across western and southern Queensland during today and off the southeast Queensland coast on Tuesday.

A perfect day for tourists, more breeze needed for Airlie Beach Race Week.

Courses for Monday 12th August 2013. PHS Racing,Cruising 1,2,3, Non Spinn, OMR Multis, PHS Multis, Sportsboats to sail course 8. (the Molle Islands Race- 27nm for Multihulls OMR Div 1, 24 nm for OMR Div 2, PHS Racing and Crusing Div 1, and 22nm for the rest of the fleet. IRC Racing W/L courses on Pioneer Bay.

Here is some of the pre-start action from Day 2, we could see more of that today, as the wind transitions from the overnight light south easterlies this morning around to the north east.
