Weta Catch Up and Coaching in Canberra

by Miranda Powrie on 26 Feb 2014
Crowded start line - Weta Regatta, February 2014, Canberra, Australia Miranda Powrie

Ten Wetas from New South Wales and Victoria turned up for a coaching weekend and catch up in Canberra, Australia last weekend.

The wind didn't get the memo but we made the best of it, with some detailed rigging tips and discussions on the best way to rig the boat, a capsize drill which showed just how stable the boats are, paddle races and a couple of good old drift off races.

Saturday night we had a great dinner at the Canberra Labor Club and made some racing plans, watch this space for an update on racing in the greater Sydney area.

Sunday the fleet took advantage of the early morning breeze to get out for a cruise up the lake and do a spot of sightseeing before pack up!
