PyroPol GmbH has a long tradition of manufacturing quality pyrotechnic products in Europe. Safety At Sea shares the belief that when safety gear is called upon, it must not let you down. It is for this reason they have selected Pyropol to supply flares and Man-Over-Board appliances.

Pyropol has been manufacturing since 1910, and makes a range of CE and SOLAS approved flares that exceed light emission and burn time regulations. The German company continually researches and develops product that not only “ticks the boxes”, but is easy to use and proven to be effective if needed in a maritime emergency. The Para Rocket for example, features low recoil making it safer for firing on a moving boat or life raft. Once fired, the Para has light intensity of over 30,000 Candela, making your chances of being seen, and eventually rescued, that much better.

As well as the standard hand-held type flares for YNZ regulations, PyroPol make a range of commercial lifesaving appliances. The “ManOverBoard 2010” is a 360 degree smoke and light unit for larger vessels, that utilizes a unique LED system with a burn time of up to 15 hours. The ManOverBoard 2010 is super heavy duty – it has been drop-tested from up to 150m. They are certified to the highest levels of “Shipwheel” and SOLAS.

Pyropol flares are now available from Safety At Sea and selected chandleries nationwide. Ask about the introductory “trade-in” special while it lasts. See www.safetyatsea.co.nz or call 09 309 9111 for more details.
