Volvo Ocean Race - Australian meterologist Tom Addis joins Team Vestas Wind for legs 8 and 9. The Lake Macquarie sailor replaces Wouter Verbraak the Dutch navigator who took responsibility for the navigational error which saw Team Vestas Wind hit at speed on the 29 November 2014 on the Cargados Carajos Shoals 240 nm north east of Mauritius
Addis was the navigator on Telefónica Blue in 2008-9 and on PUMA Ocean Racing in 2011-12 is a veteran Sydney to Hobart sailor. He is regularly the navigator on the line honours winner Wild Oats XI.
