SR26 fleet moves up a gear
Jagged Edge – the modified SR26 owned by Josh Tucker – has won the double- line and PHRF, in the shorthaul division 2 of the B&G Simrad Two-Handed Series. Racing against the Ross 930s, E7.9s and E9s they took a comprehensive victory to defy the odds as one of the smallest boats in the division. Josh Tucker (congratulations, Josh, on your new baby son) says that new masthead and fractional gennakers designed inhouse at North Sails in Auckland have made a massive difference to the boat’s performance.
A new Mainsail and #1 design we used by Jagged to win the nationals earlier in the year with mercenary placing second using the same #1 genoa design . Jagged Edge’s rivals have also ordered new sails, a new 3DL mainsail and masthead gennaker for Rattle and Rum, a mainsail and #1 for Aqua Vitae, and a new #1 for Mercenary. 'The fleet has all started to see that there is a difference,' says Josh. 'Look out for some intense racing!'
HSBC Premier Coastal Classic
