Clipper Round The World - Major wind shift on Day 7

by Clipper Ventures on 15 Sep 2013
Clipper Round the World Yacht Race Clipper Ventures PLC . http://www.clipperroundtheworld.com
It was as frustrating night of racing for Henri Lloyd challenging for first place, and after positioning itself the wrong side of a major wind shift has fallen into third overnight.

However, it was a different story for Invest Africa which over the last 24 hours has climbed three places to fifth position and continues to apply the pressure as it makes steady progress on the rest of the fleet.

Rich Gould, skipper of Invest Africa describes how he has been enjoying the power of the Clipper 70 as his team climb through the ranks.

'We have been ploughing the north Atlantic in half with boat speed in double figures for pretty much most of the time. I always knew these boats were going to be quicker than the Clipper 68's but I never thought that they would be this much quicker! Invest Africa is awesome, she is flying.'
