A-Class Worlds- Explosive action on Day 2

Although the winds were only moderate, the challenges of sailing foiling catamarans provided plenty of spectacle on the second race of racing at the World Champoionship for the A-class catamaran being sailed off Takapuna Beach, Auckland, NZ.
Race 3’s wind conditions were 15 to 20 knots. Nathan Outteridge provided explosive entertainment when his ‘Exploder’ was deliberately pulled over astern to effect a gear repair on the first down wind leg, resulting in him coming 17th. Results were; first Glenn Ashby, second Peter Burling and third Blair Tuke.
Race 4’s wind conditions were 10- 15knots.
Early in the race, an $80 custom made gudgeon bolt failed resulting in a DNF for Glenn Ashby. Without dropping a race, Glenn has dropped to 19th overall. Results: first Mischa Heemskerk (Ned), Andrew Landenberger (Aus) and third Adam Beattie (Aus)
