Elvstrøm Sails was founded in 1954 by Paul Elvstrøm, who made the leap into sailmaking after winning back-to-back gold at the 1948 and 1952 Olympics. The business venture began, and it quickly expanded as Paul Elvstrøm gathered traction and introduced new inventions and products. Elvstrøm also continued his winning ways at the Olympics, and by 1960, he won gold at his fourth consecutive Olympic Game.
This continues today with Elvstrøm Sails being a leading brand in sail innovation and sail technologies.
