Power Equipment appointed PSS Seals Distributor

by Robert Carter on 19 Jun 2012
Shaft Seals - Power Equipment Appointed PSS SEALS DISTRIBUTOR Robert Carter
Power Equipment has been appointed the official distributor of PSS Seals in the Australian, New Zealand and South Pacific markets.

Packless Sealing System (PSS) is a world leading product which delivers superior products for through hull shafts and steering systems. With PSS seals available for shafts from 20mm through to 150mm (and imperial equivalents), there is a PSS product to suit most pleasure and commercial applications.

Under the new distribution arrangement, Power Equipment has been able to revise the price list to offer customers significant cost savings to end users.

'This is a world leading brand and we are delighted to have been appointed as the sole authorised agent for our key markets,' said Ian Mills, PSS Product Manager at Power Equipment.

'Boaters of all description have had to endure problems with installations where the prop shaft or rudder pass through the hull below the water line. PSS is a modern day solution to an age old problem.'

'Through the use of modern materials and precision engineering, PSS Shaft Seals really do provide a dripless seal without the need for constant maintenance.'

Power Equipment has already invested in carrying significant stocks of the PSS Shafts Seals and their associated spare parts. The bulk of stock will be held at the company’s primary warehouse in Lynbrook (Melbourne) with smaller quantities held at Coomera (Gold Coast) and Fremantle (Perth).

Due to their unique design, the PSS seal is an easy and convenient replacement for the traditional 'stuffing box'. The system comprises a carbon/graphite flange, stainless steel collar and rubber bellows.

The PSS Shaft Seal is dripless, and therefore eliminates the need to pump the bilge. And since repacking a traditional stuffing box is eliminated, maintenance costs are slashed. By using a flange bearing made from graphite, shaft wear is eliminated.

Trade customers can now source PSS seals, and at humane prices, direct from the importer.

Power Equipment is the exclusive and authorised Australian, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and South Pacific Distributor of Yanmar Marine and Industrial diesel engines, JCB DieselMax, MASE diesel marine generators and Gori high quality folding sailboat propellers.
