'Sailing Around the World' the series

There's a new action packed documentary film series called 'Sailing Around the World the series' (www.sailingaroundtheworld.tv) available worldwide on iTunes. The series promotes the sport of sailing by sharing the stories of elite athletes and sailing events internationally.

The first film is titled 'Racing Around the World Alone' and it is about the 2008/2009 Vendee Globe race. The film follows 30 sailors that set out to sail 27000 miles around the world in this epic race.

It is broadcasting on several channels worldwide including documentary Channel and is also available in HD on iTunes! http://itunes.apple.com/ca/movie/racing-around-world-alone/id484701614

It is coming soon to Sony and Amazon as well.

The second film in the series is called 'The O Canada Project '. It is about the refit of an Open 60 sailboat in New Zealand after it was forced to retire from the last Vendee Globe race, as well as the experience of testing and learning how to sail the boat now called 'O Canada'. It is taken through a rigorous routine by kiwi skipper Dan Slater and a group of elite dinghy sailing athletes from Canada. The camaraderie of the sailors and their individual experiences shine through in this film.

The film is also being broadcast on documentary Channel and is available in HD on iTunes.

The third and fourth parts in the series, tentatively titled 'California Sailing Pt 1 - The West Coast Campaign' and 'California Sailing Pt 2 - Transpac 2011' are presently in post production and will be released in the spring of 2012. These films follow the story of the Open 60 sailboat O Canada and her new crew of elite high performance sailors, including sailing legend Richard Clarke, as they compete against some of the best boats and sailors in the world on the west coast of California. They sail in The Island's Race, The Border Run, The Coastal Cup and The Transpac race from Long Beach to Hawaii. The films are a highly intimate look at life aboard a racing sailboat in the heat of competition.
