After two years, the 2012 University Fleet Racing National Championship is back in Sydney.

The Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club along with a group of enthusiastic students who call them selves the Australian University Sailing Association will be organising the national championship. Australian University Sport and Yachting Australia are supporting the conduct of these championships.

Racing will take place off the waters of Pittwater from 13th-15th April. The regatta is open all university attendees and alumni and open to all classes of boats including dinghies, skiffs and sailboards. A boats handicap will be determined by the VYC yard stick system, divisions will be formed according to the entries received. If there are five or more entries in a division, sailors will be able to contest for the both the overall university national title and university class national championship. An overall best performing university trophy will also be up for grabs at the regatta.

While the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht club will ensure fair play and excellent conduct of the racing, Organisers are encouraging a great social atmosphere during the regatta. Accommodation on the basin has been arranged if participants choose to have a unique experience . The basin is a camping ground on the shores of Pittwater, you can only get to by boat. There will be ferry transfers from the club to the camping area. Apart from the usual prize giving there will also be a cruise on Saturday night.

This event has been organized with the aim of encouraging participation from all sailing levels, as we believe everyone is a winner. For more information visit
