Sorrento Couta Boat Festival preview

by Philip Hall on 6 Feb 2012 The Sorrento Couta Boat Festival is being held on the 11th and 12th of February, 2012 at the Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club. The event will be hosted by the Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club and the Couta Boat Association.

All sorts of woodworking displays, construction of timber classic boats, clinkers, Cadets, Couta Boats and many more timber craft will be on display.

Added to this will be Royal Australian Navy Band, Yabby Lake Winery, Red Claw Wines, Sunnyridge Strawberry Farm, Green Olive at Red Hill, Yachting Victoria, Victorian Coast Guard, YANMAR Diesal Engines, The Wooden Boat Shop, and much much more.

Also on display will be traditional Jubilee's, with Dingy and Minnows performing sailing displays. The annual Investec Couta Boat Challenge will also be run in the afternoon, and what a spectacle this will make.

Please note that for this weekend only, the SSCBC will be an open day to the public to showcase these iconic fishing boats which were very integral to the settlement of coastal and inland Victoria. SSCBC website
