Entries are closing in four weeks time for the blokart World Championships 2012, to be held at Ivanpah dry lake, USA.

Sponsored by Velocitek, Ronstan, DigThis Las Vegas, Sierra Summitts, Yacht Studio, Primm Valley Resorts and Blokart International, and with over 130 entrants so far, the racing is set showcase competitive blokart sailing at its best.

The North American Blokart Sailing Association (NABSA) are proud to be hosting the event, and have been working tirelessly over the past few months in preparation. The lake side campsite will resemble a mini community for the two weeks of the event, which consists of three practice days, The North American Championships and the week-long World Championships. Many teams will have team tents setup and the organisers will have a 200 person spectator tent ready to host those with an interest in the sport, and those who would like to give it a go.

Competitors from thirteen countries will compete alongside 33 US sailors for eight world titles. Racing is conducted in two classes, further broken in to four weight divisions. This year sees the return of the three undefeated world champions, Gabe Young (NZL), CRC racing’s Russell Harray (NZL) and Santi Oliver (NZL). All three won their divisions at the 2008 world championships held in New Zealand, and retained their titles at the last world championships held at Ostend, Belgium. Oliver has now stepped up to the performance division and will race Harray for the same Heavy weight title.... this is sure to be a hotly contested division.

It's not too late to join the fun and enter this great sailing class. Entries close March 11th, for more details check out our website www.blokartworlds2012.org.
