International 420 Class Association new website officially launched

by International 420 Class Association on 20 Jan 2012
SW
The International 420 Class Association website is officially launched today, 19th January 2012. The brand new website will showcase the 420 Class around the world.

Alongside all the usual information about the International 420 Class Association and the benefits and excitement of sailing a 420, the website boasts user tools which we hope will maximise the platform as the hub of worldwide 420 news and activities, and set a new standard in usability for class association websites.

The website has been designed with a fresh new look and high-tech underpinnings. Information is linked, making it easy to find related content, such as events, national class associations, training, development, technical issues and provide introductions to other areas of content.

The heart of the new site is our latest news which brings you 420 sailing updates from around the world. External media, such as video, social networks and photos are integrated into the site to give a cohesive experience for the user and avoids jumping between different web platforms.

The home page provides a simple navigation structure and highlights the latest information from the world of 420 Sailing, including current news, results, photos and video. The 420 Events Calendar provides enhanced event location information, and links all news and results for each event in one place.

'Our new website is a big leap forwards for the 420 Class,' said Nino Shmueli, International 420 Class President. 'The aim was to provide a vibrant website which takes advantage of online technology to showcase the 420 Class and provide a dynamic user experience. The 420 Class is the world’s most popular international two-person dinghy for young sailors and our new website is focused on promoting the class. Sailors, national class associations, national sailing associations, event organizers, sponsors and all involved in 420 sailing will benefit from the new website, as well as attracting new nations, sailors and their supporters to our class. This is our first step towards a fully interactive online web platform. We'll continue to roll out new features during 2012, including a new online entry system which will be in place for the 2012 420 International Championships.'

The International 420 Class has partnered with SailRacer.co.uk to deliver the class' web presence, which makes use of various SailRacer modules, including event management, results and calendar functions.

The site officially launched today. In the early days you might run into some bumps as we transition from one system to another. Please explore the new website and let us know what you International 420 Class Association website
