The wonderful presentation ceremony took place at the Derwent Sailing Squadron for the sailors who excelled during the course of the 2011 Heemskirk Westcoaster and Eastcoaster in which competitors were awarded their silverware. Many thanks to the VIPs for attending and making the presentations such a grand event.

His Excellency, the Honourable Peter Underwood, Governor of Tasmania is always a great part of the event and yesterday, he was in even better form. His Excellency presented Paul Buchholz with his trophy (which he keeps for about a second) for eXtasea's win in the 40th Westcoaster.]

The King of the Derwent (2/1/12) was a terrific event, with 41 boats making the effort and competing in the racing division. A further 10 joined in for the cruising category, as well.

Victorian crews were not only well represented, dominated the scoreboard and one was even the eventual wiinner, too. Additionally, there were some very serious souls out there, as the two ORCV Summer series' looked for a result in this particular race to settle the second part of the Christmas season's Silverware.

Well done all sailors and well done Alex McKinnon for all her © pics during the entire Xmas period, including some of these, below.
