Kiwi Yachting Consultants announces a major extension to their product range by acquiring Auto Anchor from RMSD Ltd.

Auto Anchor manufactures electronic windlass controls and rode counters that make anchoring safe and easy. Kiwi Yachting Consultants have been supplying the New Zealand marine industry for 22 years with a range of quality marine fittings, and have diversified into manufacturing in recent years.

The Auto Anchor system has been nominated for the prestigious 'DAME' award for its intelligent monitoring system of chain and rope released from the windlass. A magnetic device fitted next to the gypsy feeds measurements to the remote control consol which displays warp length. This gives the user an easy indicator of swing radius in crowded harbours, depth and warp, and time until the anchor is to hit the bow on retrieval. Depth limits can be set for automatic release and retrieval. In short: safe and easy anchoring.

A range of controls can be easily adapted to the Auto Anchor remote for peripheral functions such as side thrusters, cranes and sail furlers. This means finger-on-the-trigger control when you’re away from the wheel. The system can be mounted on all major makes of windlass and is available with wireless remotes and an array of read-out options.

Kiwi Yachting Consultants will be working actively to develop the Auto Anchor functions and remote controls into more electronic supplier ranges through integrated networks. The result will be a highly intelligent and de-cluttered helm station with integrated controls at your finger tips. Co-owner and America’s Cup Skipper, Dean Barker, comments 'Auto Anchor shares our values of precision, performance and reliability, and manufactures smart and user-friendly equipment'.

Kiwi Yachting Consultants began manufacturing and distributing Auto Anchor this week in Auckland, New Zealand.
