The partnership which was finalised earlier this month will bring together two important players in Australian sailing.
Helly Hansen has several brand stores offering a range of sailing apparel including the Sydney flagship store at the main entrance to the Chatswood Chase shopping centre. The Norwegian brand has been active in the Australian sailing community by establishing partnerships with several reputable sailing clubs in Australia.
The Middle Harbour Yacht Club has a long held reputation as one of the leading performance sailing clubs amongst the Sydney sailing community and its large membership base makes it one of the most influential clubs on the harbour. Home to the prestigious Sydney Harbour Regatta, that attracts more than 300 yachts every March, MHYC hosts a large number of recognised events for many sailing divisions, from the Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship to twilight racing. Helly Hansen will be providing awards and prizes for many of the Club events, as well as supplying all MHYC uniform requirements and an exclusive range of co branded apparel to be sold only through the Club.
'We are very happy to be the new apparel partners for MHYC and are looking forward to working with MHYC on the various events and regattas for the next three years,' said General Manager Craig Ryan.
When asked about choosing Helly Hansen as the new apparel partner, MHYC Marketing, PR and Sponsorship Manager. Alana Whitting replied, 'We’re excited to welcome Helly Hansen on board as apparel partner for MHYC. Our Members appreciate the innovative quality of the Helly Hansen range along with the recognised style, plus practicality, of the brands water sport and technical pieces'.
'We look forward to a collaborative partnership and a fresh range of MHYC Club merchandise which will be available for sale exclusively here at the Club and at our various events including the upcoming Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship at the end of November,' she said.
