Gold Coast Marine Expo - Carnivale of Colour fireworks display

by Stephen Milne on 5 Nov 2011
Crowd levels for day one at the Gold Coast Marine Expo were extremely encouraging as 3435 people attended the show Stephen Milne
Gold Coast Marine Expo - Carnivale of Colour is a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the sky above the Coomera River on November 5.

The Club Marine Carnivale of Colour will wrap up the second day of the inaugural Gold Coast Marine Expo beginning at 5pm with a live performance by well-known local band Kick, followed by a fundraising art auction and then a sensational free fireworks display at 7.15pm.

Gold Coast Marine Expo spokesman Stephen Milne said the Club Marine Carnivale of Colour was a great opportunity for boating enthusiasts to mix with Australian boating identities and experts.

'We are pleased to have the largest marine insurance company in Australia, Club Marine, come on board with the Expo as the sponsor of the Club Marine Carnivale of Colour, a celebration of the global nature of our boating industry,' Mr Milne said.

Club Marine CEO Greg Fisher said Club Marine, Australia's largest provider of pleasure craft insurance was proud to be associated with the Gold Coast Marine Expo.

'It is great to see the initiative taken by Gold Coast marine industry to provide a unique experience for the whole family with working displays, entertainment and children’s activities,' Mr Fisher said.

'The Gold Coast Marine Expo is a great opportunity for the boating community to display boating and accessories information for the Gold Coast region and best of all it’s free.'

Stephen said boating was all about having fun, relaxing, socialising, meeting new friends, swapping ideas and knowledge.

'What better way to do it than on the Saturday night of the inaugural Gold Coast Marine Expo where boating enthusiasts can mix with industry leaders, identities and experts, and Club Marine have helped bring our industry closer to the boating public,' Stephen said.

'Entry to the Club Marine Carnivale of Colour is free and with free entertainment, free fireworks and food and drinks available for purchase, it will be a great night out for boating families.

'Our aim is to bring the boating industry and the Gold Coast community together at the Club Marine Carnivale of Colour. It’s called the Carnivale of Colour because the boating industry is global, representing all the colours of the world and also our fundraising art auction at 6.15pm will bring a bit of colour to the event with the nautical themed canvasses which will go under the hammer to raise much needed funds for local charities Paradise Kids and Sailability and our spectacular fireworks display will light up the sky above the Coomera River with myriad colours.

'We hope through the Gold Coast Marine Expo to break down the mystique and barriers for people new to boating and make it fun and affordable for people to become involved.'

The Club Marine Carnivale of Colour will be held on November 5 from 5pm at the Gold Coast City Marina. Entry is free. Food and drinks will be available for purchase on the night.

Organisers of the inaugural Gold Coast Marine Expo are calling on all artists to participate in the Artists Quarter.
