Distinctive men’s and women’s lifestyle label, Musto has journeyed across the English Channel to source inspiration for its much anticipated Spring/Summer 2011/12 Collection.
The Musto journey this season is all about light-hearted fun and relaxation, with the new range Musto’s most versatile yet, with light-weight hooded blazers jockeying for attention alongside vintage-inspired chinos and shorts.
Drawing inspiration from the French Riviera, whilst remaining true to the label’s proud sailing heritage, the design team have taken classic marine silhouettes, such as matelot trousers, cotton reefers and Guernsey-inspired knits, and updated them with Musto’s unique signature to produce an all-purpose collection equally at home in the harbour or on the high street.
The menswear collection continues the 'Ocean Outfitters' graphics detailing first introduced in the 2010 range, with new external graphics in appliqués, woven and canvas labels and embroideries.
In seeking to address the needs of its global audience, Musto has this season introduced differing fabric weights in to its men’s polo shirts and rugby styles, ensuring new elements of discovery in every style.
For women this season, the new is just as food, with long summer cardigan, cotton jackets, beach shorts and linen pants providing the basis of the collection. As with the men’s offering, the women’s styles feature a vivid and varied seasonal colour palette, offering the opportunity to flow new product across the two seasons, ensuring newness at retail and new opportunities to develop colour stories in store.
Based around a colour palette of kelly green, peacock, Oxford blue, summer red, magenta, primrose, antique sail white and mocha, sizes range from S to XXL. Retail price points starts at AUD$90.00 (NZ$109.00) for polos to AUD$399.00 (NZ$479.00) for the waterproof Mac.
David Ross, Musto national sales manager, said both ranges had a strong commercial appeal while managing to balance tradition, innovation, practicality and style. The ranges will be instore from August 2011.
