by Dave Mackay on 15 Jul 2011
Jo Aleh and Polly Powrie (NZL) are the latest in a long line of successful NZ 470 sailors Thom Touw http://www.thomtouw.com

Dear 470 friends old and new:

The NZ 470 Association is having a reunion dinner at Takapuna Boating Club. Many of New Zealand's top sailors have passed through the class, and this is a great opportunity to renew friendships and talk about the great contests, how good you really were or could have been - had a few things gone your way ...

The Reunion Dinner is set for Saturday 20th August at Takapuna Boating Club.

All past and present 470 sailors are invited. Old friends can catch up and also meet the new faces on the 470 scene.

New Zealand has a lot of history in 470s going back to 1974. We are is still at the top internationally with our women's team consistently on the podium and our men's team consistently in or near the top 10.

NZ crews in the class have won four world World Championships and and Olympic Silver medal.

New Zealand will be hosting the 470 Junior Worlds at Takapuna in January 2012 which will see many potential medalists for 2016 Olympics competing.

This is not a fund raiser. It's just a get together and a party.

Remember - 7pm on 20th Aug at Takapuna Boating Club. Buffet $50 per head to be served at 7.30pm.

Good times!
