While in fifth position in The Transat CIC fleet, Team Holcim-PRB skipper Nicolas Lunven alerted his shore team on Wednesday morning that the boat's bowsprit had broken. The incident occurred overnight amid strong wind conditions.

Despite the damage, Nicolas is continuing in the race to New York and we are continuously monitoring his progress to ensure he reaches his destination safely.

"The bowsprit is damaged and unusable, meaning I cannot use any downwind sails for the remainder of the race. But since we prepare for all kinds of challenges and scenarios, I am confident in my ability to finish the race."

In the meantime, the team is already working on a solution to fix the boat once it reaches New York.
