From time to time we have a guilt trip about running too much professional and Olympic sailing. So Saturday was a great chance to head for Lake Pupuke, on Auckland's North Shore - a favorite place when it is blowing hard - too hard for racing on the harbour.
Great to see several young windsurfers on the lake, learning to handle the mid-Winter breeze - which was recorded at around 25-25kts on the harbour. One rain squall when through which wouldn't have given you much change out of 40kts.
At the other end of the age scale, several Masters sailors were out in their Laser Radials getting in some training.
