K6 Eurocup 2011 day two

by Elena Giolai on 29 Jun 2011
K6 Eurocup 2011 day two Elena Giolai/Fraglia Vela Riva
K6 Eurocup 2011, organized by Fraglia Vela Riva in collaboration with the K6 class, is being held from 27 June to 1 July in Trentino Garda, Italy.

Today was another splendid day at Riva del Garda with sunny skies and strong winds for the K6 Eurocup, managed by our excellent race secretary Heather Chepperfield.

Three legs were completed with southerly winds of 16 to 18 knots. Ian Robson and his crew (Ian Johnson and Andy Carroll) seem intent on repeating their success of two years ago. They had two firsts and a second giving them a solid six point lead ahead of Jonathan Calascione, in second place. Four points behind is Peter Kirby and fourth is David Smithwhite. Good partials in today's third race for Nick Jones and Neil Fulcher, who have been jumping in and out of third position with DNF (3-dnf-3-dnf-10-3 partials!).
