Windcraft to hold official christening of 'Harry’s Story'

by Mary Bickley on 21 Jun 2011
Yacht Raffle for Bear Cottage Windcraft Australia www.windcraft.com.au
Windcraft are proud to announce the naming ceremony of the Hanse 355 at Middle Harbour Yacht Club at 11am on Saturday 2nd July.

You are invited to the Christening of 'Harry’s Story' with The Hon. Mike Baird NSW Treasurer, Member for Manly and other special guests.

This brand new boat could be yours for just $100!

The Yacht is the grand prize in a unique fundraiser for Bear Cottage, the children’s hospice in Manly. The raffle is being run by Windcraft, the Hanse importer and tickets are limited to 5000. All proceeds over cost go to Bear Cottage. Bear Cottage relies entirely on funds raised by the community for the $2.5million needed each year to keep the doors open.

Many of Australia’s most famous yachties are proudly supporting this innovative campaign. Jessica Watson, who skippered Ella’s Pink Lady into Sydney Harbour in May last year to become the world’s youngest person to sail solo, non-stop and unassisted around the world, will take the winner sailing.

The name 'Harry’s Story' is in tribute to a 7 year old boy who sadly passed away this month. Harry’s family has found tremendous support and respite at Bear Cottage. At Bear Cottage, every life, however short, is enriched, enjoyed and celebrated. The name 'Harry’s Story' has been chosen to represent all the children and families who rely on Bear Cottage.

Please support this worthy cause by joining in this short but very significant naming ceremony on 2nd July. Raffle tickets will be available for purchase on the day at the club or online.

50% of the tickets have already gone so be quick! Draw is on 31st July at Sydney Boat Show.
