2011 Port Credit In-Water Boat Show - August 26-28, 2011 - Port Credit

by Heather Robertson on 7 Jun 2011 Ontario’s premier boat show, the Port Credit In-Water Boat Show is celebrating 21 years August 26-28, 2011. It will be hosted once again, at the Port Credit Harbour Marina – The Boating Super Centre – in Mississauga, ON.

The Port Credit In-Water Boat Show is the ONLY boat show that features both new AND used power and sail boats in the water and on the hard.

Walk the docks at the Port Credit Harbour Marina and see new sailboats from Beneteau, Jeanneau, Hansa, J-Boats, Hunter, Dufour, C&C, Tartan, and Catalina. On the power side, Chaparral, Four Winns, Carver, Regal and Cruisers Inc. pre-viewing new and used models.

And that’s just a few of the boat lines booked to date! Visitors can expect to see many pre-owned boats as well as a large display of used boats and boat listings from yacht brokerages from Port Credit Harbour Marina, Outer Harbour and Oakville areas.

On-the-hard, will be land displays featuring marine equipment, insurance, finance, charters, sailing schools, boat associations, and canvas makers. Boaters who still need to write the Operator’s Proficiency Test will be able to take the test at the show, with Boat Smart. Discover Boating will on hand to answer any questions about how to get into boating.

New this year is the Raymarine Mobile Electronics Showroom. A 32’ trailer, fully loaded with all of Raymarine’s award-winning technologies including the A-Series products, C-Series and E-Series Multi-function displays, and Raymarine’s HD digital fishfinders, radars, autopilots, wireless remote technology. Staffed by Raymarine’s product experts it will be a great place to interact with Raymarine’s extensive product line.

The Metro Marine Modellers will on be hand with their ‘small’ model boats. This is an organization with over 100 members, who spend the winter making small boats and the summer racing them. Models built with reality in mind, these boaters are glad to chat about how they built these boats and their history. Weather permitting; they will be demonstrating their boats as well.

And join us for our ever popular seminar series, this year entitled – ‘Living the Dream’. Rob MacLeod of Informedboater.com will once again host a stellar group of speakers who will cover topics such as cruising down the Inter-Coastal Waterway and in the Caribbean. Meet yachting couples who have lived the dream. For those just getting into boating, join us for DIY seminars on how to buy a boat and cruising electronics.

Back by popular demand is our CONSIGNMENT TENT sponsored by The Store, Mason’s Chandlery. Boaters needing to dispose of gently used boat stuff are invited to bring it to The Store prior to the show. The Store staff sells it on their behalf at the Boat Show consignment tent. Forty percent of the proceeds are donated to local youth sailing programs.
