Pornichet Sélect 6.50 attracts 78 starters

by Class Mini on 31 Mar 2011
SW
Pornichet Sélect 6.50 starts on April 30th.

One month before the start, 78 boats have registered for the first solo race of the season.

300 nautical milles along the Southern Brittany and Vendée coasts, this course, formidable and feared provide the first test for the solo skippers. The first few nautical milles are traditionally more tactical. Downhill to Les Sables d'Olonne, upwind ascent to Groix, the tiredness is close. Sleep, not much, hang on, pass Belle Ile and cross the finish line in the Bay of La Baule.

The Pornichet Select is a must do race of the mini calendar. The first solo race of the season is sometimes the first race for some skippers. The 'Select', as it is called has its share of hard racing.
