Korea International Boat Show focuses on business of boating

The 2011 Korea International Boat Show is expected to be renewed as an industry event, focusing on creating what it calls 'actual business'.

On February 25, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will run the ‘2011 Korea International Boat Show’ as an industrial exhibition to create actual business at Jeonggok Port, Hwaseong City and Tando Port, Ansan City. The boat show, which will be held on June 8-12, will consist of the boats and yachts show, conference, investment consultant and other events.

Organisers say 'the show will be run by focusing on attracting actual consumers and enhancing the match-making programs in an attempt to create actual business'.

In order to achieve this, the organiser has decided to decrease the number of official events and provide the opportunities for participants to exchange related information with buyers both from home and abroad by hosing investment consultant on marine industry and meeting for new business on Jeonggok Marine Industrial Complex.



Along with that, a vie-governor of Gyeonggi Province, Yoo Yeon-Chae will be sent out to IFBSO (International Federation of Boat Show Organizers) Congress in Amsterdam from June 8-11 and will attract the top enterprises and buyers from there.

In addition, the Province will host more experiencing events such as riding Canoe, Kayak, traditional boat in the hop that people would exposure to the marine leisure culture would be spread.

Moreover, it is planned to have international boat and yacht design contests to discover and train the talented professionals.

In an effort to push ahead the boat show, which is invested roughly 5.4billion in total, the Province made a decision of having briefing sessions on attracting domestic enterprises around Seoul, Jeolla and Pusan area from February to April.
