The Race to Mackinac 2011 has surpassed the 300 entry threshold.
The race, presented by Veuve Clicquot, is organized by the Chicago Yacht Club.
'We are delighted that interest in our race is once again so strong. As we say on our boat, ‘It’s going to be a very busy lake.’' said race chairman Greg Freeman. 2011 marks the 103rd running of 'the Mac,' the world's oldest annual freshwater sailing distance race. The 103rd Race will start off Chicago's lakefront on July 16, 2011.
'We anticipate our third consecutive sellout’ said Freeman. Entries are confirmed by responses to invitations for returning and invited skippers and payment of race entry fees. Requests for Invitation are provided to skippers who submit applications meeting the requirements for the race. Entries to date can be viewed
