Australian market leader Boat Books closes Brisbane branch

by Jeni Bone on 15 Mar 2011
Boat Books - Marine Book, Charts and Navigation equipment SW
The largest specialist supplier of Marine books, charts and navigation equipment in Australia, Boat Books Australia, has announced it will be closing its Brisbane branch, from March 25th 2011.

Boat Books Australia Director Christian Brook said ‘‘this had been a difficult decision as the Brisbane branch had been operating for 30 years. We have been very fortunate to have loyal staff over these many years and we thank them for the time and effort.

'It's a sign of the times with the book industry suffering and also the recent problems in Queensland, with the floods and cyclones,' he added.

'In recent years we’ve spent a lot of time and effort in building on our line facility as our customers have been moving rapidly to the Internet and looking ahead we are well placed to offer our high standard of service to all Queensland customers through Sydney,' he said.

Our Queensland customers can be supplied overnight if required, with Sydney able to take care of the Commercial shipping, Internet / Mail Order, and Marine Trade orders and we are looking forward to the continued business with no impact for our customers. It will be business as usual for our Melbourne branch he concluded.'
