The 2025 52 SUPER SERIES season gets under way this week in Saint-Tropez, and American Magic Quantum Racing returns to the starting line with a fully unified sailing team that merges the two racing programs under one name, one brand identity, and one mission.

What began as a strategic collaboration (Quantum Racing, powered by American Magic) in 2023 has matured into a single, integrated platform—American Magic Quantum Racing—representing the most seamless convergence yet between America's Cup-level systems and the TP52 circuit. It's a milestone in American Magic's evolution, and one that underscores its long-term commitment to performance, innovation, and American sailing.

"We've brought our two competitive sailing programs under one flag," said Team Principal and Helmsman Doug DeVos, "to reinforce our commitment to performance, development, and the advancement of American sailing."

That unity goes far beyond branding. The team now operates under a single high-performance umbrella, integrating technology, coaching, design inputs, and operations across the full American Magic platform. The goal is clear: to not only compete at the highest level, but to continue winning, building on last season's 52 SUPER SERIES championship while developing the next generation of American sailing talent.

"We're not just building a team to win now," said Terry Hutchinson, Tactican and President of Sailing Operations. "We're building a program that ensures American sailors are ready to win for years to come - trained, tested, and hardened at the top level of the sport."

2025 Crew List:

  • Norm Berge - Midbow
  • Greg Gendell - Bow
  • Trevor Burd - Grinder
  • Terry Hutchinson - Tactician
  • Lucas Calabrese - Main
  • Ian Liberty - Downwind Trim
  • Matt Cassidy - Pit
  • James Lyne - Coach
  • Sean Clarkson - Runner
  • Harry Melges - Afterguard / Helm
  • James Dagg - Upwind Trim
  • Luke Muller - Grinder
  • Doug DeVos - Helmsman
  • Lara Poljšak - Float
  • Victor Diaz de Leon - Strategist
  • Sara Stone - Navigator

"Every position on board is earned," Hutchinson emphasized. "We've built a culture of accountability and performance; we can always be better, and this year's crew reflects a strong mix of experience and potential. The bar is high—we won last year—and our goal is to match that."

American Magic Quantum Racing will need to be sharp out of the gate. The 2025 52 SUPER SERIES is shaping up to be one of the most competitive yet—eleven boats, nine nations, and no clear favorite. Provezza, Platoon, and Gladiator return in strong form, while newcomers like Alkedo, powered by Vitamina and Alpha+, are set to shake up the standings.

Official practice racing in St Tropez is on Tuesday, April 29, with the points racing running from Wednesday, April 30, to Sunday, May 4.
