A perfect score takes Shaw Contracting to top spot in the SMS Sports Boat division of the 2011 Crown Series Bellerive, discarding a third place in race one, David Shepherd and crew, came home with four bullets to take the series.

Second place went to another Port Dalrymple Yacht Club boat with Resin Dog skippered by Sam Edmunds, just edging out Resin Dogs designer Fred Barrett, by one point with a third place in heat five. Barrett in sailing one of his latest designs Fang to the Max, a FBYD 6.5 took third place.

'It seemed every race Shep was leading to the mark' says fellow PDYC sailor Tim Ferguson, 'all we could do was follow.' An elated Shepherd said 'We’re back! The teams back, we’re back to winning.'

Scott Creedon’s Mustard Cutter had it tough as did most visitors, trying to master the big wind shifts of the Derwent. Scott managed to get a third in race four and fifth overall. Livewire Peter Brooks and Plastered Tim Ferguson had a good time too, gaining valuable experience and points on the Sports circuit.

The next regatta on the Trailable and Sports Boat circuit will be the final round of the State Circuit Cup, the Trailable and Sports Boat Tasmanina championships being sailed at Port Dalrymple on the 26 and 27 March.
