The Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club of Wellington will be taking to the water for the city’s Get Out on the Harbour Day this Saturday, February 19.
As part of the planned activities, club members will have yachts available for event goers to go out onto the harbour for a sail.
The objective of the all-day event is for land-lubbers to get out onto the harbour water on a variety of boats.
CentrePort Tugs will also be taking event goers for rides on the harbour. Visitors can also get a close glimpse of the Queen Elizabeth, the world’s newest and – it is said – most spectacular cruise ship to date.
Die-hard land-lubbers are welcome to jump on a special event bus and take a tour around Wellington harbour. There will be stalls and displays on the dock.
For more information on events and an updated schedule for the day, visit the Wellington website http://www.wellingtonnz.com/event/get_out_harbour_day!Wellington_website, or the Royal Port Nicholson Yacht Club http://www.rpnyc.org.nz//index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1195&Itemid=492!website.
The Get Out on the Harbour day is taking place at the Jervois Quay in downtown Wellington.
