International Fireball Australian Championships, Gippsland Lakes.

With a pleasant 10-14 knots from the South East, the fleet left the beach, with the battle between Michael Thomson/Eddy Alder and Lauren Thredgold/ Beth Fawcett to claim first overall in the final race remaining.

The fleet pushed the start hard with three boats recorded OCS, with only one of them restarting.  Lauren/ Beth showed they meant business by taking an early lead.  They were followed closely by Thomo/Eddy who only had to finish near them to secure first.

Lauren/Beth pulled away to win comfortably, but Thomo/ Eddy held on to second and the overall championship win.

Other prize winners are:
Lauren Thredgold first junior.
Heather Macfarlane first Ancient Mariner
Don Allen/Emily Allen win the Bombay Bowl for first on handicap.
