Sydney Short Ocean Racing Championship (SSORC) will be hosted by Middle Harbour Yacht Club on 27 and 28 November.
The Regatta will once again showcase a prestigious line up for the standalone event that is also the first in the series of lead up regattas for those yachts bound for Rolex Sydney Hobart or Pittwater Coffs Series.
Julie Hodder, Commodore commented. 'It’s a chance to fine tune both boat and crew prior to the Rolex Trophy One Design and Rating Series and the two major offshore races in a spectacular windward/leeward format for the IRC Grand Prix Racing yachts and Farr 40 One Designs'.
'Short Ocean Passage races each day will provide a different set of challenges for the IRC and PHS Racer/Cruiser Classes and a spectacular sight for those enjoying the Harbour and foreshore with a common start and finish inside Sydney Heads.'
In 2009 a highly competitive fleet contested the annual Championship with Steven Ainsworth’s Loki taking the podium place in the SSORC IRC Grand Prix Racer division. As the reigning Audi Australian IRC Champion Ainsworth is among the high level entries in the IRC Racer class …. And is back to defend his title.
