Dear Sailors,

Just to remind you that the ninth Punta Fuego Regatta, which includes the Fortune Island Race, will take place on 6 and 7 November 2010. The regatta is open to all Keelboats (racing IRC and PY), beach catamarans of any description, dinghies of any description and of course Ocean Multihulls.

The Competitor's Briefing will be at 1000 on Saturday morning at the Barracuda Bar followed very quickly by the start of the Fortune Island Race

Attached is the Notice of Race which includes the Entry Form. Please return as soon as possible.

As usual there will be an full interesting social programme starting with Welcome Cocktails at the new Barracuda Bar on Friday evening, The Barracuda Bar is right beside the Marina in the ground floor of the Marina Office building. Once again Club Punta Fuego will be offering special prices for San Miguel Beer (50 Pesos) and rum coke (50 Pesos) and a selection of wines (free Friday night while supplies last and reasonably priced after that).

Saturday Night Fever at the Main Club House on Saturday night will feature a live band.

The Awarding on Sunday afternoon will be at the Barracuda Bar.

The Regatta takes place after the Puerto Galera All Souls Regatta, and boats are welcome to stay in the Marina free of berthing fees between the events. The Regatta Organising Authority is the Punta Fuego Yacht Club.

1 Rules
1.1 The Regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
1.2 The following will apply
The IRC Rules 2010 (for IRC Keelboats)
The Cruiser Class Rating System as administered by the Organising Authority
The Offshore Special Regulations Category 5 (for Keelboats)
Class Rules for one design dinghy and catamaran classes
Portsmouth Yardstick Handicap System for Open Class Dinghies and Catamarans
This Notice of Race (as amended by the Sailing Instructions)

2 Advertising
2.1 The Regatta is designated as a 'Category C' event in accordance with ISAF Regulation 20, Advertising Code.
2.2 The organizing committee may require all boats to display the Regatta sponsors advertising on their boats.

3 Eligibility and Entry
3.1 The Regatta is open to:
• Dinghy Classes racing as their own class – Optimists, Mirror/Lawin, Laser, 420, 470
• Dinghy Classes racing under PY
• Beach Catamaran Classes – Hobie 16, Bravo and Getaway
• Keelboat IRC Classes – racing, cruising
• Keelboat Cruising Class
• Ocean Multihulls
3.2 For a Class to be recognised and to have separate results published a minimum of 3 boats must enter the Class. Classes may be divided or combined, subject to the number of entries in the Class.
3.3 Competitors should compete and return the attached entry form so that gate passes and IDs can be prepared to make entry and exit to Punta Fuego and Terrazas easier and to enter into the draw for FREE casita accommodation for the week end. (See Entry Form for details) Fax: 02-751-4028

3.4 Member and Non-Members Keelboats wishing to moor free of charge may do so from Saturday 30 October by contacting the Marina Manager and booking in at least 24 hours before arrival.

4 Entry Fees
4.1 The entry fees will be
IRC, Cruising, Ocean Multihull Classes P 2,500 - boat and skipper
Dinghies, Hobies P 1,500 - boat and skipper

Included in the entry fee is
• The welcome cocktail party on Friday night at The Yacht Club Bar
• The Saturday Night Fever party at The Main Club House with Reggae Band
• The lunch and Awards Party on Sunday afternoon
• Commemorative merchandise
Entry Fees must be paid at registration before a boat starts to race.
4.2 Optimist, youths and National Team members should contact their respective organizations re entry
4.3 The Crew Fee to be paid by participants is P 900 per person, which includes entry to the Friday Cocktail Party, Saturday Night Party, Sunday Awards Party and commemorative merchandise
4.4 None competing accompanying families and friends will be able to buy individual party tickets

4.5 The Punta Fuego Entry Fee is wavered for all participants and their supporters.

1000 Competitor’s Briefing at The Barracuda Bar
1030 approx Warning Signal for Race 1 – Windward Leeward
followed by Fortune Island Race for keelboats and beach catamarans
All boats will overnight in the Marina
1900 Saturday Night Fever at the Main Club House

Sunday 7 November
1000 Warning Signal for Race 3
1500 approx Late Lunch and Prize Giving

6 Race Courses
6.1 The course to be sailed will be chosen in the light of prevailing conditions.
6.2 Keelboat and Beach Catamarans will be set a combination of the Fortune Island Race, Windward / Leeward Course and Island courses.
6.3 All other classes will be set a combination of Windward / Leeward and Island Courses

7 Sailing Instructions
The Sailing Instructions will be available at Registration.

8 Scoring
The Low Point scoring system of Appendix A in the RRS will apply. A boat’s series score will be the total of all her race scores.

9 Protests
The Chairman and members of the Protest Committee will be appointed.

10 Prizes and Trophies
10.1 Awards will be given to the Overall First, Second and Third Places in each class that has more than 6 entries
10.2 Awards will be given to the Overall First and Second Place in each class with 5 or 4 entries
10.3 Awards will be given to the Overall First in each class with 3 entries
10.4 Awards will be given to the Overall First, Second and Third Places in the Punta Fuego to Terrazas Race via Fortune Island. (Keelboat and Beach Catamarans only)
10.5 Additional prizes will be given at the discretion of the organising committee

11 Disclaimer
The Punta Fuego Yacht Club, the Fiesta Organising Committee, the Race Committee, Race Sponsors and their respective representatives, officers, members and volunteers accept no liability whatsoever for any loss of life or property, personal injury and damage caused by, or arising out of the Race. The responsibility for a boat's decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone. (RRS Fundamental Rule 4)

The first ten completed entry forms received by the Secretariat, from all classes, will be put into a draw for a free casita on Friday and Saturday nights sponsored by Punta Fuego Yacht Club.

The draw will take place on Friday 30 October and the winning entries will be informed by telephone

Cabanas will be available for those that wish to stay the night at Terrazas de Punta Fuego.
