It was a great surprise to discover a brand new sailing club located at the Beijing Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park in Shun Yi, Beijing.
Today it was windy, and a large crowd of beginners and more experienced sailors had gathered at the new club. They offer a large fleet of the small FE 11 dinghies for children, a Topaz and a Weta trimaran, which I sailed and enjoyed immensely as she really flies in a breeze with the asymmetrical spinnaker.
They have a large staff of instructors, some of which are recruited from the Olympic sailing village in Qingdao. The club is open every day between April 1 and October 31, so you still have one more month to try it out.
You pay a RMB 20 Olympic park entrance fee, and then you pay for the boat rental which include a locker room and safety vest.
