Blustery breeze blows Northshore 369’s to victory

Strong wind warnings and dust storms weren’t enough to slow up three new Northshore 369’s in MHYC’s Wednesday afternoon race.
All three Northshore 369’s had their owners driving their new boats as they powered there way around Sydney harbour enduring wind gusts up to 30 knots.
Dick Smidlin sailing his Northshore 369 “Trim” came home first overall closely followed by Ross Breadman in “Renaissance” with “Ellipse” owned by Brian Bergin and Peter Jones right on their transom. “Ellipse” was on her maiden sail straight out of the box and straight into 30knot winds.
All three Northshore 369’s were less only 50 seconds apart at the finish, which was a tribute to their new owners and crew.
The Northshore 369 recorded faster times than boats such as the Benneteau 47.7 and the highly competitive Sydney 38 just to name a few.
IRC racing is also looking very positive for the Northshore 369, Hull number 1 “Avanti” raced here first race under IRC a couple of weeks ago at RPAYC and recorded a very pleasing 4th overall beating numerous Sydney 38’s as well as many others.
