Leopard Catamarans announces new Leopard 39

by Leopard Catamarans on 17 Sep 2010
LEOPARD 39 (45) - Leopard Catamarans' New Leopard 39 Leopard Catamarans
How do you make a world famous, award-winning yacht even better? You maintain all the features that earned its accolades yet listen to your clients and take additional modification recommendations to heart. This is exactly what Leopard Catamarans, Robertson & Caine, and Morrelli & Melvin have done with the Leopard 39 sailing catamaran.

Building on the success of the multiple award winning Leopard 38 (2010 Boat of the Year, 2010 Best Boat, and 2010 Best Production Multihull), Leopard Catamarans is proud to announce the new Leopard 39. With the hulls and deck coming out of the same molds as the Leopard 38, the major modifications on the Leopard 39 are a new continuous hardtop as well as a raised helm station covered by a hard bimini. A design feature first found on the popular Leopard 46.

'True to Leopard Catamarans' reputation for constantly looking to improve design and construction practices based on customer feedback, this new modification represents an aesthetic and functionality change distinctive enough that the new Leopard 39 was created. With a proven track record of off-shore capability, ease of handling and great performance, the Leopard 39 is, and will continue to be, the benchmark of excellence for the modern cruising catamaran,' comments Scott Woodruff, Leopard Catamarans Sales Manager.

Like her predecessor Leopard 38, the Leopard 39 features two guest cabins to port with the starboard hull entirely dedicated to the owners as a luxurious and spacious owners' suite. She is focused on performance, comfort and offers an abundance of outdoor space. With her generous sail plan and hull design the Leopard 39 offers high performance yet is highly practical and easy-to-use.

Her large extended cockpit hardtop provides excellent shade and weather protection and a powerboat-style stepped transom enables easier boarding. The vertical front windscreens give superb panoramic visibility, more effective use of interior volume as well as sun protection. Environmental considerations were also central to the design, with solar panels installed as standard on the helm hardtop to charge the on-board batteries.

The first Leopard 39's are launching from Cape Town, South Africa now and will be showcased at various boat shows worldwide in 2010-2011.
