All thel classes except the IRC Grand Prix divisions, ere progressively gunned away on the Around the Island Race.

The IRC Passage divisions start was a spectacle of colour despite the overcast skies. At the gun a variety of brightly coloured spinnakers filled the sky.

Ocean Affinity won the start from Evolution Racing and Flying Cloud. Those boats closer to the Hamilton Island shore suffered in lighter breeze and gybed back heading for the Dent Island.

Some of the fleet struggled to hold their kites in the shifting breeze and as the fleet headed for the Dent Island corner they fell into the lee and were fighting against the strong tide.

Several 'temporary parking lots' were created, until the yachts regained the breeze and lifted going around the corner.

Today’s media boat was Pebble Beach an Atomic 45 and the private boat of qualia, Hamilton Island. Usually reserved for day charters and sunset cruises by qualia guests, today in the capable hands of Josh our driver, we sped between the various fleets in comfort even managing to reach the Super Yachts further out in the passage. There we cruised alongside the magnificent Kokomo before returning back to the Hamilton Island marina.

Chickens, eggs, and boats. Until now, had never, ever put that lot together! The proverbial chicken, an egg, and boats.
