Bavaria Cruiser 45 has been nominated for European Yacht of the Year 2010/11. The Cruiser 45 will be tested by the international judging panel following the HISWA boat show in Amsterdam in September and the prestigious award will be presented for the eighth time in January 2011 at the Dusseldorf Boat Show, Germany. Represented by Europe's most influential sailing magazines, the European Yacht of the Year Awards attract over one million readers.

The Bavaria Cruiser 45 is one of a new line of yachts being designed by Farr Yacht Design and BMW Designworks USA. Bavaria, like leading German car manufacturer's, is putting more investment, time and effort into design and manufacturing process. The new Bavaria models represent the best price/performance ratio through German engineering combined with unrivalled economies of scale and world-class design.

Bavaria Cruiser 45 wins Ronde om Noord Regatta, Holland.

The new Bavaria Cruiser 45 notched up her first major race victory by winning the well-known Ronde om Noord Regatta in Holland (18-19 June 2010). Not only winning her category, the Cruiser 45 also took overall handicap victory against 250 other competing yachts. This race win points to an inherent performance element in the new Cruiser range delivered through close collaboration with Farr Yacht Design.

The Ronde om Noord race covers 120 miles through the Ijssel Sea, the Wadden Sea and the North Sea and the yachts faced stiff winds and heavy swell. Remarkably, the Cruiser 45 was only handed over to her new owners the day before the regatta leaving little time for race preparation. Skipper Rienk Alberda said: 'Despite the short time frame, everything functioned absolutely fantastically. Even the high waves caused no problems and she really sailed like she was on rails. Bavaria has really hit the mark with the Cruiser 45.'

North South Yachting, Australian distributor for Bavaria Yachts, will be displaying new Bavaria Cruiser 45 along with the Cruiser 32 and Cruiser 55 at the 2010 Sydney International Boat Show.
