470 World Championships winners Belcher and Page thank supporters

Well. I don't know where to begin. Most of you would probably know by now that Mal and I have won the 2010 470 World Championships in Scheveningen, Holland. As with any world championships they are hard to win and easy to lose. We were fortunate to have sailed well enough to go into the medal race with a 20 point margin enabling us to take the crown before the final race.

We wanted to say a special thanks to you all for your support and guidance, your comments and wishes. They are a big support to us while we are continually traveling and competing overseas. After an extensive five month European circuit, and our world championships now over, we compete in our final World Cup event for the year in just under one month's time in Weymouth.

Mal is now on his way to re-introduce himself to his wife Fiona while I'll rest in Hamburg, Germany with my wife before regrouping in Weymouth, England at the end of the month. Victor is currently heading to Ukraine for a weeks rest (hopefully he will have a rest).

With this title Mal, has become the most decorated 470 Men's sailor in the history of the class. It is his fifth 470 World Title (including his ISAF World Sailing Games win with Nathan) and Victor's 13th World Championship title. I'm stoked with my first 470 world title, it is a pleasure and honour to be with this team. To our training partners, Sam, Will, Ben and Max, thank you for your help and support.

We look forward to celebrating with you in person when we return to Australia. We hope you can celebrate our victory as much as we do: each of you is part of our team and has contributed to our success in one way or another. Thank you!
