The 60th Intervela at Fraglia Vela Riva is drawing to a close and this year has also seen some great races in this historic event. With another two legs today and winds of 15 to 20 Knots, the event concludes tomorrow with the ninth and final race.

In the 420 fleet, first place is already guaranteed for Italian Edoardo Mancinelli-Scotti racing with a new partner substituting for Veronica Luppi who was injured yesterday due to strong winds.

With Leonardo Cucchiara at the bow Mancinelli-Scotti achieved a second and a sixth, which was good enough to give them the gold medal one day early. 'We had good runs, not great but good.

We were hoping for better results in the partials in preparation for the 420 World Championship in Israel on the 22nd – 31st of July, but we’re happy all the same'- said Mancinelli- Scotti at the end of the eighth race.

There will be a fight however, for second place between Austrians Bildstein-Hussmann and Papagiannakou-Anastasakou of Greece, second and third respectively with only one point between them . An excellent fourth position overall and first of the women is the crew of Celli-Morini of Italy who tomorrow, will have to fend off an attack from Rebaudi-Puppo of Genoa.

Another good day for Emanuele and Enzo Savoini in the 470 class who, with a 3-1 partial today, overtook the Hungarians Varadi-Serke (1-3) to give them a four point lead. Gulic-Kobao of Slovenia dropped to third position today with a 10th and a fifth.

In the Finn class Austrian Rauschl is way ahead of Italian Riccardo Cordovani and Pal of Hungary.

The start of ninth and final race is at 13.00 hours
