China (Shenzhen) International Boat Show (SIBEX), organized by YUBO Exhibition Group, started in 2007 with both on-land and on-water displays. The show features boats, yachts, relevant fittings, waterfront luxury properties and lifestyle products. SIBEX also tries to boost China’s marine life culture through a serious of marine lectures and experiencing activities during the show. SIBEX 2010 will be held in Shenzhen Marina Club, Dameisha Bay, Shenzhen, 4-7 November 2010.

In 2009, the French Grand Pavois Association (GPO) joined YUBO Group to co-organize the third Shenzhen Boat Show. As the organiser of one of the top European boat shows — Grand Pavois at La Rochelle - GPO’s expertise helped the Shenzhen exhibition grow much more internationally where overseas brands covers more than half of the exhibitors, including an exceptionally strong French delegation.

Numbers of exhibitors have grown rapidly in the last three years – from 51 in 2007 to 83 in 2008, and then last year “an approximate-200 scale”. Among them, the yachts displayed onwater reached up to 82, the biggest ever in all China’s boat shows. [Organisers estimated 15,000 visitors to the 2009 show, but we think that might be an optimistic number. Ed] Locally made boats were a highlight of the 2009 show – “quality progress and elements targeted at Chinese people’s taste”.

Our Feature: Marine Life Activities
Marine lifestyle is now increasingly drawing the attention of a huge Chinese rich class who benefit from China’s booming economy. The organizer catches these green shoots and holds a serious of trailing and exchange activities during the exhibition to spread the marine culture and knowledge. These activities include:
? Boat Test Drive, including yacht and mini-sailboat trialing;
? SIBEX Voyage Lectures, inviting veteran sailors to share their wonderful sailing stories;
? SIBEX ‘Night of Voyage’ VIP Gala Dinner,
Lots of celebrities will be gathering for the future of China’s boat industry
? China Golden Sail Awards, the organizer together with professionals and stars will present the awards to the most-committed people and enterprises to this industry.
? Yacht Model Photo Contest, enjoy the beauty, elegant yachts, and the sea through cameras.
? SIBEX China Waterfront Properties and Marine Culture development forum,
Here you will see a debate among experts and professionals of Yachting and Real Estates industries.

Our Unique Advantages
1. Close to Hong Kong
Hong Kong, a metropolis separated from Shenzhen by a river, is no doubt a festival marketplace of boating. Its developed marine culture brings it yachts mooring all around and two international boat shows every year in just a small island. The wind of oceanic culture has blown through the Shenzhen River and had a great impact on mainland people’s lifestyle. Rich people in Shenzhen and Guangdong Province who emerged from this top economic district in China had been turning to yachts for leisure and business and Shenzhen’s long and beautiful coastline becomes their favourite to berth the boats.

Under this impact, Shenzhen held the first China Cup International Regatta in 2007, since which a Hong Kong-to-Shenzhen Rally lit up the two cities and the whole country every year. Shenzhen’s marinas also see many Hong Kong people driving their boats here as Hong Kong’s berths are in short supply. That is what’s happening in the marine field as part of the Shenzhen-Hong Kong unification trend. And thanks to the ships from Hong Kong, the Shenzhen Boat Show could display much more vessels on water than any other boat shows in mainland China.

2. Huge Market in Pearl River Delta
Shenzhen is part of the-Pearl-River-Delta-Hong-Kong-and-Macau circle, which sits the most developed part in the map of the booming China economy. China is now the world’s No. 2 luxury products consumer and is expected to jump on top in 2015. Of the country’s massive multimillionaires, Guangdong Province takes up a runner-up number of 140,000, who mainly come from the Pearl River Delta. That promotes Shenzhen’s boat industry great expectations with such a big market.
