Leigh Francis and his merry men from All Marine Spares were delighted with their prominent position at Sanctuary Cove Boat Show, and despite the rain, deemed the event a success in terms of interest and leads. They will most likely be back for their second show as exhibitors, to again showcase their latest addition, the Craftsman engine.

'We go up each year anyway to see our contacts and customers, so we may as well have a stand,' says Leigh. 'We had a nice product to exhibit, and there was plenty of interest, so next year, we may take some of our other products we have.'

According to Leigh, even Volvo commented on the neat little Craftsman engine. 'We had people coming from every which way, and a lot of them commented on the Craftsman, so that's a good sign. We are now following up the leads or passing on retail enquiries to suitable people in their local area.'

Also manning the stand during the show, Sajeev Rajan from the factory that manufacturers the incredible and well priced Craftsman.

'It’s the product of a Dutch firm consortium with experience building marinised Mitsubishi-based motors. It’s light, very simple, no excessive parts that fall off or rust and it’s priced right,' affirms Leigh.

Circulating around the venue, Leigh and his team were able to catch up with contacts made at METS, trade delegations including 'the Italians', and some of their general trade customers.

'We noticed numbers were down this year, but there was a reasonable crowd. It's not so much a family market as Sydney, but there were a lot of young people going past.'

Based at Mona Vale, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, All Marine Spares services the trade all over Australia, 'from Broome to Bankstown, Bermagui, Brisbane, the Gulf, Groote Eylandt – everywhere'.
