The Green Blue, the environmental programme of the RYA and BMF, is pleased to announce the launch of its brand new website.
Thanks to funding from The Crown Estate’s Marine Stewardship Fund and technical support from the BMF (British Marine Federation), The Green Blue’s brand new website has a fresh new look, new content and layout updates.
“The redesign offers an enhanced user experience – directing individual boat users and boating businesses straight to their area of interest with practical advice and resources; we’ve also introduced a new section specifically for clubs and training centres which will help them to make environmental improvements whilst saving money at the same time”, commented Jane Swan, The Green Blue Project Manager.
The site now also includes dedicated regional pages so visitors can see what’s happening in their area at a glance, and by using social networking media The Green Blue is reaching out to new groups on Facebook and Twitter!
What’s more an updated ‘Pump Out Directory’ showing the location of holding tank pump out facilities around the UK had been added, and users can still make use of our Green Directory to find greener boating products and the Marine Toolkit for businesses to make environmental improvements and save money.
One of the hot topics on the new site is the build of Calypso, a new greener Contessa 32 being built by Jeremy Rogers. Calypso will be exhibited in partnership with The Green Blue at the PSP Southampton Boat Show from 10th - 19th September, proudly displaying her green features.
The idea behind Calypso is to inspire sailors and boat builders to be as environmentally friendly as possible and showcase new products and technologies. You can follow her progress on The Green Blue’s new homepage or directly on the blog, http://buildingcalypso.blogspot.com/
“We are delighted with the new website and we hope that users will be too. We’d welcome any feedback users may have on the site so please take a look and tell us what you think”, concluded Jane.
