Salthouse Boatbuilders prospering- clarification

by Salthouse Boatbuilders Ltd on 15 Feb 2010
Greg Salthouse – son of John Salthouse, now the director of Salthouse Boatbuilders Ltd. MIAA
Salthouse Boatbuilders Ltd, based in Greenhithe Auckland, have a long and established business history dating back 53 years. With the latest news that Salthouse Marine Ltd have gone into receivership, it is important to clarify the fact that these two companies are in no way affiliated or financially connected to each other.

Salthouse Boatbuilders Ltd is in no way associated to Salthouse Marine Ltd. Salthouse Boatbuilders Ltd are fortunate to have a diverse business with three excellent slipways, a marina for on-water maintenance work as well as hi-tech humidity controlled sheds, with comparatively low overheads owning our own factories, so we have been in a strong position to weather the recent economic downturn with all types of work from building state of the art carbon fibre race yachts to classical restoration work and refits.

While we are sorry to hear that Salthouse Marine Ltd are in the hands of receivers, Salthouse Boatbuilders Ltd do not find ourselves in this situation and are currently experiencing continued success and development. March will see the exciting launch of the latest TP52 for the English, Team Origins, European race circuit. Our sheds and slipways are a hive of activity with the refit of a 72ft cruising yacht and numerous repair and slip jobs.

We have space booked for another 57ft race yacht to start in the following weeks and work is about to begin on another of the Salthouse Boatbuilders Ltd designs, a Southstar 37.

The Salthouse name carries with it a long history in the New Zealand marine industry and over the years
numerous marine related businesses such as Dean Salthouse Next Generation Boats Ltd and Salthouse International Marine Brokers Ltd have been established. It is again important to note that while these businesses carry the Salthouse name, they have no financial affiliation to each other or Salthouse Marine Ltd and for all three companies it is business as usual and 2010 is promising great things.

For further information please feel free to contact Greg Salthouse, Salthouse Boatbuilders Ltd.
